Our optical displacement sensors IMS and IMS-B detect a linear movement via the optical scanning of a striped pattern. The striped pattern on our ribbon can be detected up to 20mm. Due to the self-adhesive coating of the ribbon, many applications can be covered with one sensor. A major application is detecting the movement of the seatbelt in a crash test. Here, the sensors act as seat belt displacement sensors.
